After much anticipation the West African Exams Council (WAEC) today released the May/June waec 2016 result. On this page you will find detailed steps on how to check your waec 2016 result for free.

How to Check May/June WAEC REsults 2016

  • Goto WAEC website www.waecdirect.org
  • Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number. 
  • (This is your 7-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 4123456789)
  • Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year eg. 2002
  • Select the Type of Examination
  • Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
  • Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card
  • Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up

How to Get WAEC Result Checking PIN
The WAEC results checking PIN cost N300 you can buy it at any waec office in Nigeria or at any post office. With the PIN you can access your waec 2016 results online. The PIN can only become invalid after using it for about 6 times.

Approximately 53% of students who sat for the 2016 May/June West African Senior Certificate Examination (WASSCE) have passed.

According to the results released on Friday, August 5, by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Lagos, 137,295 candidates (representing 8.89%) had their results withheld.

The total number of candidates who passed had credit passes in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics was 878,040 which represented 52.97%, a stark contrast to the 2014 and 2015 breakdown where 31.28% and 38.68% respectively had the same ratings.
